Livingston Fire Chief Corky Cochran (left), and Goodrich Fire Chief Ken Hambrick.
Fire Burns Brick Home on US-146, SCHWAB CITY, August 23, 2011 - At Approximately 9:40 p.m. on August 22 2011, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriffs Office.  Volunteer fire departments from Livingston, South Polk County, Scenic Loop, and Goodrich responded to the house fire located at 132 Granbury at the corner of US-146 and Granbury.  Fireman arrived to find the home fully involved.  Deputy Troy Binford with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to conduct a preliminary investigation.  Livingston Fire Chief, Corky Cochran and Goodrich Fire Chief,  Ken Hambrick were present at the scene.  The fire appears to have started in the middle of the house.  The middle of the roof caved in as flames shot over 20 feet into the air.  Fortunately, nobody was injured during the incident and the home occupants weren't hat home.  According to neighbors, the residents of the home had been gone for about 2 months and had only returned one day before the fire.  At time of press, the owner(s) of the home and whether or not they had insurance is not known to PolkCountyToday.com.  The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation and will be turned over to Polk County Fire Marshal Jay Barbee.

Special thank you:  Ken from Ken's Towing
