House Fire in Indian Springs, INDIAN SPRINGS, August 20, 2008 - Shortly after 7 pm on August 20, 2008, a house fire broke out at the Indian Springs subdivision. The house, just yards away from the subdivision entrance, allegedly caught fire in the back of the house and the fire quickly spread throughout the house. Volunteer firemen including Chief Steve Culli and Assistant Chief Jerry Lusczki from the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene to put out the fire with several fire engines. Fire Engines from the Alabama Coushatta Volunteer Fire Department also arrived to help battle the blaze. One of the main concerns was the propane tank in the back of the house that was only a few feet away might get over heated and explode. Fortunately, the firemen were able to get the fire under control before the tank could ignite. The house was totaled. According to Chief Culli, the house was un-occupied although the electricity to the house was on. Also dispatched to the scene was Polk County Sheriff Deputies Keith Franklin and Darren Crowe. At time of press, the owner of the house has not yet been notified of the incident.
