The house went up so fast that by time firemen arrived at 1117 FM-350 South, the house was nearly burned away.
Man Loses Everything in House Fire, LIVINGSTON, August 8, 2015 - At around 6:30 am on August 8, 2015, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Firemen from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 1117 FM 350 South to put out what remained of the house that went up in flames very quickly. Home owner, John Edward McGowen, 65, of Livingston got out of the house in time only to watch helplessly as his house and all it contents burned. Deputy Terri Mayer was also dispatched to investigate. Nobody was injured in the incident. McGowen (retired and living in the home since 1973) did not have home owner's insurance. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
