Fire Totals Double Wide Mobile Home, BIG SANDY, August 4, 2014 - At approximately 3:30 pm on August 4, 2014, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Firemen from Segno VFD arrived at 122 Towering Pines Road to find a double wide mobile home burning.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with other fire departments from South Polk County, Livingston, Alabama Coushatta, North Liberty County and Tarkington.  The fire fighters struggled to get the fire out as the flames were burning between a double roof (a roof suspended above the roof).  Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.  The crews battled the blaze for over 3 hours.  The mobile home was totaled.  PolkCountyToday.com was not able to ascertain the name of the owner or whether or not the homeowner(s) had insurance on the home.
