Fire Totals Block of Apartments, CORRIGAN, July 31, 2010 - Eight apartment units are feared to be totaled from a fire that started early Saturday afternoon. The fire allegedly originated in an upstairs unit spread to the 4 top units. The apartments were the Corrigan Square Apartments located off Highway 287 about 1 mile east of Corrigan within the Corrigan city limits. The fire totaled the 4 top units, the roof was completely burned off, and the bottom 4 units sustained heavy water damage and may be totaled. VFDs from Corrigan, Diboll, Livingston, and Onalaska sent trucks and men to battle the large fire. An anonymous witness stated that the fire is believed to have been started by an unattended lit cigarette, however, that is unconfirmed and the fire remains under investigation.

A block of apartment consists of 4 bottom units and 4 top units all in one building. The bottom units didn't burn, but sustained heavy water damage and are probably totaled.
