LIvingston Fire Chief Corky Cochran (right) talks to homeowner Brian Moran.
Fire Damages Home in Putnam's Landing, LIVINGSTON, July 21, 2011 - Shortly after 10 am on July 21, 2011, a neighbor spotted smoke coming from the home located at 216 Osborne in the subdivision of Putnam's Landing. The neighbor called 911 and the Livingston and Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office including Glen Edwards and Christopher Lima. Lima was one of the first people to arrive. "I got here and nobody was in the house, but there were pets trapped on the front porch and we got them out to safety" Lima told PolkCountyToday.com. Firemen arrived and quickly got the fire out. According to Livingston Fire Chief Corky Cochran, they're not for sure what caused the fire, but he pointed out that there were two tripped breakers on the breaker box (meaning that the fire could be electrical in nature). The quick response from the fire departments kept a bad situation from becoming really bad as the house was only moderately damaged on one end. The home is reportedly owned by Brian Moran. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the scene was cleared before noon.
Firemen pull siding off of one end of the house in order to get to the fire.
Trucks from Scenic Loop and Livingston responded.
Deputy Glen Edwards conducted a preliminary investigation.
Detective Christopher Lima pulled these two birds and an elderly cat to safety.
These two Rottweilers watched from a safe distance.
