A quick response from LVFD helped keep a bad situation from getting worse.
Semi Trailer Storing Tires Catches Fire, LIVINGSTON, July 15, 2008 - At approximately 6:00 pm on July 15, 2008 a semi trailer owned by Martinez Heavy Truck & Tire Repair caught fire.  Two alert youths, Corey Dickerson, and Andrew Boyce, both of Livingston, alerted the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department who was on the scene within 5 minutes with 4 fire engines and a surplus of volunteer firemen.  The storage unit is located next door to Lone Star Charlie's restaurant, whose owner Jack Abdullah looked on as fire fighters battled the blazing tires.  Livingston Fire Chief Corky Cochran was on the scene with other notables, Police Chief Dennis Clifton, Assistant Chief John Haynes, Roy Sanders, Allen Cook, and Ben Ogletree III.  Heavy smoke filled the area and heavy damage was visible to the storage unit.  Fortunately, nobody was injured during the fire.  The quick response from the volunteer fire department kept a bad situation from getting much worse as the fire was fully extinguished and the situation well under control by 6:45.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
