Approximately 7 Acres Burn North of Livingston, LIVINGSTON, July 13, 2022 - Shortly after 3 pm on July 13, 2022, Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to property directly behind Gray's Landing RV Park located in the 4174 block of US-59 (just north of the Livingston City Limits). Firemen arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire in about forty minutes. Livingston Fire Chief, Corky Cochran, stated that "...fires don't just start themselves". Cochran stated to PolkCountyToday.com that "...a burn pile is likely the cause". Fortunately there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation The Texas Forest Service.

REMINDER: Polk County is currently under a burn ban passed by commissioners court.

Special thank you: Chief Corky Cochran and Krystin Michelle Burchers
