A fire engine from Scenic Loop Fire Department ran hoses from an adjoining street.
Mobile Home Totaled by Fire, SCENIC LOOP, July 11, 2010 - At approximately 7:24 pm on July 11, 2010, a mobile home fire was reported at 415 Harmon Street off of FM-3277. The Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department led by Chief Donald Marlow, was dispatched to the scene along with Polk County Sheriff's Deputies Lee Rogers and Daniel Sangster. The mobile home went up so quickly that by time firemen arrived with fire engines the roof of the mobile home had already collapsed. In addition to the burning mobile home, the woods next to the mobile home had now caught fire. The mobile home owner (Terri Stanley of Livingston) sat nearby at a table outside and watched as firemen put the fire out. Power lines near the mobile home were damaged and fell to the ground. A crew from SHECO was dispatched to repair the damaged lines. Stanley did have insurance. The fire was completely extinguished by 8:15 pm. The scene was cleared by 9 pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
