Fire Heavily Damages Home of Elderly Couple, LIVINGSTON, June 22, 2009 - At approximately 6:05 pm on June 22, 2009, a house fire was reported at 383 Turner Cemetery Road. The house was occupied by James and Neva Bolton. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and led by Chief Corky Cochran and Assistant Chief John Haynes. 3 Fire Engines arrived to find the rear half of the house's interior in flames. Smoke was billowing from under the corrugated metal roof and from the rear windows as firemen quickly doused the flames but not before the fire totaled the rear interior where the fire is believed to have started around the pantry in the vicinity of the water heater. Polk County Sheriff's Deputy, Craig Taylor was also dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, there were not reported injuries. The fire was completely put out before 7 pm. According to Chief Corky Cochran, the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
