Second Floor Apartment Fire Damages 4 Units, LIVINGSTON, May 4, 2017 - Shortly before 5 pm on May 3, 2017, a sixteen year old youth discovered a grease fire in his apartment's kitchen in apartment number 23 (Timbers Apartmens 1500 North Houston). Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the scene. When firemen arrived, smoke was billowing from the entire second floor (which houses 4 apartments). Firemen were able to extinguish the blaze and save the apartment units, but there was damage as heavy smoke infiltrated all four units on the second floor. Apartment number 23 also has fire and water damage. Since the fire was on the second floor and fire hoses were used to extinguish, there may be water damage to the first floor units below. Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
