Fire Levels Home, COLITA LOOP, April 14, 2013 - Shortly after 4pm on April 13, 2013, a house fire was reported near Colita Loop. Firmen from Onalaska and Livingston arrived to the remote and somewhat distant area and the home was already burned to the ground. Deputies Don Cabiness, Robert Green, and Corporal Terri Mayer (all with the Sheriff's Office) arrived to investigate. The home was located at 277 Perkins Ranch Road and owned by Kenneth Krieger. Nobody was home during the fire. Krieger arrived to find his home completely leveled. Nobody was injured in the incident. Krieger did have insurance. The investigation will be turned over to Polk County Fire Marshall, Jay Barbee.
