Once the fire was extinguished, charred ruins were all that remained.
Fire Destroys Mobile Home, LEGGETT, April 14, 2010 - Shortly before 6 pm on April 13, 2010 a fire was reported from Leggett. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched with 2 fire engines to 379 Mabank road in Leggett. Also dispatched was a crew from Americare Ambulance Service, and Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Donald Milner. The owner of the mobile home is reported to be Sam Elliott and the mobile home was being rented by Amber Balcerowicz. The fire completely destroyed the mobile home and all its contents. Amber Balcerowicz could only cry when she realized that all her belongings were in the mobile home and that now her possessions were destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Polk County Fire Marshal, Jay Barbee. The fire was completely extinguished by 7 pm.
