Smoke billows from a storage building at the Woodhollow apartments in Livingston.
Fire at Woodhollow Apartments (Suspicious Circumstances), LIVINGSTON, March 20, 2011 - At approximately 6:30 pm on March 20, 2011, Woodhollow Resident Apartment Manager, Rodney Brady stepped outside his residence and smelled smoke. He followed the smell and located a storage building where extra appliances are kept along with lawn equipment and washers and dryers. The storage building was on fire. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of the apartments on Mimosa Street along with the Livingston Police Department. Firemen showed up with several fire engines and doused the fire, but the interior and much of its contents were totaled. Representatives from SHECO arrived to disconnect power to the building. The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes. The circumstances surrounding this fire adds an element of suspicion. There was a waste basket fire in the same building 2 days prior to this fire. In both cases (this fire, and the fire 2 days earlier) the source of each fire is unknown. Livingston Fire Marshal, Mark Taylor is investigating. According to apartment management, the owners have insurance on the property.
