Massive House Fire in Goodrich, GOODRICH, February 26, 2011 - At approximately 1:30 am on February 26, 2011, a house fire was reported from River Lake Estates. The home was located off Dogwood Road. The Goodrich Volunteer Fire Department and the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Billy Duke with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Goodrich Fire Chief, Ken Hambrick and Livingston Fire Chief, Corky Cochran were both present. Upon arrival the home was completely engulfed in flames. According to sources, the home was vacant, and the electricity was turned off. Workers from SHECO arrived to check nearby power lines for damage. The fire was completely extinguished by 3 am. At time of press, the owner of the home and whether or not the home was insured is not know to PolkCountyToday.com. The incident will be turned over to Polk County Fire Marshall, Jay Barbee for investigation.
