Volunteer Firemen extinguish a fire at 217 Clamon Park Drive.
Fire Totals Home Near FM-2457, LIVINGSTON, February 25, 2011 - Shortly before 1 pm on February 25, 2011 a structure fire was reported. The Scenic Loop and Livingston Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene at 217 Clamon Park Drive off Wobbly Bobbly Trail near FM-2457. Firemen arrived to find the double wide mobile home engulfed in flames. Deputy Glen Edwards with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was also dispatched to the scene along with Americare Ambulance Service and Polk County Fire Marshal, Jay Barbee. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire that also took out a Jeep Cherokee and a boat that were parked next to the mobile home. The owner of the home is Marlion Clamon, 69, of Livingston. Clamon was renting the home to James Dobbs, 25 of Livingston. According to sources, the fire possibly started in the kitchen when someone was cooking with oil. Marlion Clamon did have some insurance on the mobile home. The fire was completely out by 2 pm.
The interior nearly conpletely burned causing the roof to collapse.
A boat and a Jeep Cherokee parked next to the mobile home were also torched.
"Nala" who lived in the mobile home stands only a few feet away from destruction and appeared confused...
Moments later Nala's owner Destiny Marr, 19, found her and cradled the scared dog. Marr also lived in the mobile home.
Deputy Glen Edwards (center) conducted a preliminary investigation.
Polk County Fire Marshal Jay Barbee will conduct a full investigation into the cause of the fire.
