Fire trucks from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department on Wilcox Road in Putnam's Landing
Garage Burns Down, Nearly Burns House Down, PUTNAM'S LANDING, January 30, 2015 - At around midnight on January 30, 2015, a structure fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  Trucks and men from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 136 Wilcox Road in the subdivision of Putnam's Landing (Off FM-3126 near Livingston State Park), to find a garage fully involved.   The garage went up so fast that it burned to the ground in a matter of minutes.  The roof was all that was left resting on the ground as a result of the fire.  The intensity of the flames melted the siding off the backside of the owner's house.  Fortunately, nobody was injured.  A deputy from the Polk County Sheriff's Office initiated a preliminary investigation.  At time of press, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Special thank you:  Ken with Ken's Towing
