Fire Guts Home, No Injuries, LIVINGSTON, January 22, 2020 - Shortly after 10 pm on January 21, 2020, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Volunteer Firemen from Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 107 Leisure Lane at N Lake Shore to find the center of the home engulfed in flames. Scenic Loop VFD soon arrived to assist. The fire was reported by a neighbor, as nobody was home during the fire. A deputy from the Polk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to initiate a preliminary investigation into the cause of the fire. Additionally, Sam Houston Electric Cooperative was dispatched to the scene. The home is allegedly being rented. At time of press, PolkCountyToday.com does not have the name of the alleged renters or the homeowner. It is not yet known if the home was insured. The case has been turned for to the Polk County Fire Marshal for a full investigation.
Firemen were able to douse the fire, but the home sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.
