House Fire Destroys Home, TEXAS LANDING, January 17, 2018 - Shortly before 3 am on January 17, 2018, Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 345 Buffalo Court in regards to a house fire. Firemen arrived to find the center of the home engulfed in flames. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the home. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist. Additionally, Deputy Michael McDuffy and Sergeant Byron Dunaway with the Polk County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to investigate. The home was owned by 74 year old Fran Boyett. Boyett got out of the home and nobody was injured. A crew from Sam Houston Electric Cooperative was dispatched to replace a damaged transformer. Boyett has homeowner's insurance. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The home was completely destroyed.
