Fire Totals Home in Holiday Lake Estates, GOODRICH, January 5, 2016 - Shortly before 9 am on January 5, 2016, a house fire was reported to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Volunteer firemen and trucks from Holiday Lake Estates, Livingston, South Polk County, and Goodrich were dispatched to the scene. Additionally, Americare Ambulance Service and Sam Houston Electric Cooperative were dispatched. When firemen arrived, the center of the house was completely engulfed in flames and collapsed the center of the roof. The home, owned and occupied by Kenneth Scott and his wife, was totaled. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident. It is not known to PolkCountyToday.com whether or not Scott had homeowner's insurance. An investigation into the cause of the fire will be turned over to Polk County Fire Marshal, Darryl Oates.
