This mobile home had no electricity when this fire broke out.
Mobile Home Burns Off Scenic Loop, SCENIC LOOP, January 4, 2015 - At approximately 2 am on January 4, 2015, Corporal Craig Taylor with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was patrolling in the vicinity of Scenic Loop when he drove upon a mobile home fire.  Taylor radioed the incident to dispatch who summoned the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department.  Taylor was quickly joined by Sergeant Glen Edwards, Jacob Hopper, and Robert Green (all with the Polk County Sheriff's Office).  Firemen arrived at 177 East Sherwood Drive to find the home mostly engulfed in flames.  Nobody was home when the fire broke out.  Firemen had the fire out in about 30 minutes, but the mobile home was totaled.  The fire appeared to have started in the living room.  Though nobody was home, it was an occupied home.  The circumstances and cause of the fire remain under investigation.  The home reportedly did not have electricity and hasn't had electricity for some time.  The owner's name is being withheld at this time.
