Polk County Sheriff's Office Reels in 4 Dangerous Criminals
Sheriff's Deputies Apprehend Four Criminals, SEVEN OAKS, October 21, 2008 - Shortly after 10 am on October 16, 2008 the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding suspicious activity at the Seven Oaks Motel. Deputies were informed that there were several people carrying chain saws and other equipment in and out of motel rooms. Deputies were able to ascertain from the motel attendant that the suspicious activity was coming from rooms 10 and 14, both rented by one David Michels, 26, of Montgomery County. Upon running a check on Michels, he was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest out of Montgomery County for aggravated assault against a public servant. Deputies then went to rooms 10 and 14 and found Michels and placed him under arrest.
Criminals Enjoy Eachother's Company... David Michels was found in the company of three other people; another male and two females. Deputies were given consent to search the motel rooms and found illegal narcotics and weapons. A warrant was obtained to search the suspects vehicles. During execution of the search warrant several weapons were found, methamphetamines, and writings that link all 4 suspects to a well known dangerous gang. In all, four arrests were made:
David Jason Michels, 26, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and a warrant for aggravated assault against a public servant. Bond Amount: $700,000
Steven Walter Cook, 45, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and ulawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Bond Amount: $1,000,000
Sherri Lynn Day, 42, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and prohibited substance in a correctional facility. Bond Amount: $20,000
Velora Lynn Pagan, 30, arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond Amount: $10,000
