Lived In Travel Trailer Explodes, PROVIDENCE, October 15, 2024 - At approximately 7:30 am on October 15, 2024, Spencer Lyle, 66, of Livingston, was relaxing in his travel trailer (off Glen Nettles Road) with his dog, Taco when, what is believed to be a propane tank, exploded. The explosion blew Lyle and his dog out of the trailer (literally). The travel trailer was leveled in a split second. Lyle's brother who lives nearby, heard the explosion and called the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Polk County Fire Marshall, John Fugate. Lyle was transported by ambulance to a landing zone and reportedly flown to Galveston. Taco the dog had singed fur and whiskers, but was otherwise okay. There were no other injuries reported in this incident.
66 year old Spencer Lyle, of Livingston, and his dog, Taco, were relaxing in his small travel trailer when a propane tank exploded. The explosion literally blew Lyle and Taco out of the travel trailer as it collapsed on itself in an instant.
If you look closely, you can see that Taco's whiskers are singed off.
