41 year old Patrick Nerren of Rye is facing multiple felony charges.
High Speed Chase in Scenic Loop Area, SCENIC LOOP, September 25, 2011 - At around 4 pm on September 24, 2011 Narcotics Detective Vance Berry was patrolling the Scenic Loop Area around FM-3277 when he tried to initiate a routine traffic stop. The vehicle was driven by Patrick Neal Nerren, 41, of Rye. Nerren chose to evade and took off. A chase ensued into the Subdivision of Shelter Cove. Nerren was spotted by Berry tossing something from the window during the chase on Sherwood Drive. The chase took several turns and at times reached speeds of around 70 mph in residential back roads. Detective Berry was soon joined by Deputy Mike Nettles and Detective Christopher Lima. They finally got the vehicle stopped after a chase that lasted around 10 minutes. Nerren was taken into custody. A generous amount of marijuana was found in Nerren's vehicle and Officers found a .22 caliber pistol that Nerren had ditched on Sherwood drive during the chase.
Patrick Nerren was charged with: Felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana (over 2 ounces), evading arrest in a vehicle (second time, Nerren has a previous conviction), and assault with intent to commit bodily injury.
