What Began as a Disturbance Turned Into a High Speed Chase, LIVINGSTON, January 8, 2010 - At approximately 10:40 pm on January 8, 2010, Officer Ashley Brame with the Livingston Police Department went to check on a reported disturbance on Sprott Street in Livingston. As Brame approached the situation a black 1995 Dodge pickup that was being driven by two white males sped away. The truck is registered to C.L. Butts of Onalaska. The occupants are believed to be associated with the disturbance. Officer Brame pursued the vehicle and the chase made its way to US-146 South. The chase reached speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour. The truck made a left on E. Capps Road and continued east until the truck spun out and wrecked on Capps and John Wayne Street. The truck took out a large portion of a wooden fence on private property. The occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot. Officer Brame apprehended one of the occupants (a juvenile) while the other remained at large in the freezing temperatures. Shortly after that, Brame was joined by Officer Jason Thomas and Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and DPS Troopers Ramey Bass and Darwon Evans. The juvenile was taken to the Livingston Police Department for questioning. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service recovered the pickup and it will be stored at LakeView Storage in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 12:06 am.
