Sheriff's Office Releases Details on Escapees RV Park Homicide, Anthony Nuncio entered his parents bedroom and began shooting. The following is a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office:
On August 30, 2020 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office along with the Texas Rangers conducted an investigation into the deaths of the Nuncio Family located at the Escapees Park in Polk County Texas. The investigation showed Anthony Nuncio, who is the son of Michael and Debra Nuncio, killed his mother and father. Anthony entered his parent’s bedroom shooting Michael (father) and Debra (mother) while they were in bed. Michael was shot several times but managed to fight back killing Anthony (son). Michael then succumbed to his wounds before he could call for assistance.

Homicide at Escapees RV Park, LIVINGSTON, August 30, 2020 - On August 29, 2020, a deputy from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Dove St. that is located in the residential area of the Escapees Park. The Sheriff’s Office was requested to conduct a welfare concern on the parents of the caller, because she had not been able to make contact with them for two days.
A deputy arrived on scene and soon after requested assistance at that location.
After obtaining a search warrant for the residence Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office along with Texas Rangers from Company-A, re-entered the residence and began the investigation into the deaths of the Nuncio Family. Upon entry, Investigators observed items in the residence and an adjacent building that caused concerns of possible explosive devices at that location.
Agents from ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Fire Arms) were requested to assist with the investigation in identifying the items found at the scene. The Agents had to set and detonate a small explosive charge, because they were unable to identify an object found in the residence.
After both structures were deemed safe to re-enter, Investigators continued their investigation and discovered, who we believe to be Michael Nuncio his wife Debra Nuncio and their adult son Anthony Nuncio. After talking with the daughter and neighbors, it is believed the bodies have been there since Thursday.
An inquest was conducted by Pct. #3, Justice of the Peace Robert Johnson, who ordered the bodies be transported to the Harris County Forensics Lab.
The Sheriff's Office will be looking for confirmation of the findings from the Medical Examiner’s Office on Cause of Death, how long the bodies have been deceased as well as conformation of the identities.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is wanting the Community to know that they are not looking for any suspects in connection with these deaths nor do we feel there are hazards to the Community surrounding these deaths.
