23 Year Old Livingston Man Arrested for Online Advancements to a 14 Year Old Girl, LIVINGSTON, July 30, 2008 - On July 22, 2008 the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to possible online solicitation of a minor. Information received from the complainant was that a 23 year old white male identified as Eddie Allen Chatman from Livingston, Texas was sending text messages, sexual in nature, to her 14 year old daughter. At one point, Chatman even sent a picture of himself nude to the 14 year old. Investigators received the the girl's cell phone and started an investigation by responding to the text messages that Chatman was sending. During the messaging Chatman agreed to meet the 14 year old girl at her residence thinking the parents were not home. Once Chatman arrived at the residence, he was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor and possession of a controlled substance. Chatman was transported to the Polk County Jail where he is being held under one $25,000 bond, one $3,000 bond, and has a hold out of Harris County for assault family violence. Texas Ranger Ron Duff, and Investigators from the Polk County District Attorney's Office assisted the Polk County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
