DWI on Old Israel Road, LIVINGSTON, August 27, 2011 - At approximately 1:15 am on August 27, 2011, Sergeant Christian Schanmier and Deputy Billy Duke with the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic situation near Old Israel Road. As Schanmier approached the residence he spotted a maroon older model Chevy Truck driving away. Schanmier initiated at traffic stop on Old Israel road. The truck was driven by Timothy Leggett, 29, of Livingston. Schanmier observed symptoms of intoxication. Schanmier was quickly backed up by Deputy Billy Duke. Trooper Joe Cole with the Texas Highway Patrol was summoned to the scene. Cole performed a field sobriety test on Leggett and placed Leggett under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A cooler with iced down cans of beer was found in the truck along with a case of cold beer. Timothy Leggett reportedly has a previous conviction of DWI. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Leggett's vehicle and it will be stored in Goodrich.
Trooper Cole conducted a field sobriety test on Leggett.
Leggett was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
An ice chest with iced down beer was found in Leggett's truck.
Additionally, a case of cold beer was also found.
Timoth Leggett's truck was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker.
