Goodrich Man Crashes Car, Arrested for DWI, GOODRICH, August 14, 2012 - At approximately 9 pm on August 13, 2012, a silver 2009 Hyundai Accent driven by Edgar Fernando Angel, 30, of Goodrich, was west-bound on FM-1988 West near Guadalupe Road when his vehicle left the pavement to the right, slide through grass, struck a culvert and landed in a driveway. A person who said they heard the crash called the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Deputy Byron Dunaway and Trooper Ramey Bass were dispatched to the scene. When Trooper Bass spoke to Angel, he suspected intoxication. According to Bass, Angel admitted to have been drinking earlier. Bass conducted a field sobriety test and placed Angel under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing was summoned and recovered Angel's vehicle.
