Young Driver Arrested for DWI, GOODRICH, July 31, 2011 - At approximately 10:15 pm on July 30, 2011, a call was placed to the Polk County Sheriff's Office to report a single vehicle accident off FM-2665 about one half mile east of US-59. According to witnesses, the driver appeared to be intoxicated and was trying to leave the scene of the accident. Deputy Billy Duke with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was dispatched and secured the scene until Troopers David Morris and Kevin Burman arrived. The driver of the vehicle, Nicholas Lee DeLoach, 21, of Livingston, explained that he was trying to "turn around" and got his 2004 Toyota Rav4 stuck. EMS Personnel from Americare Ambulance Service were summoned and examined DeLoach. DeLoach refused treatment. Trooper Morris administered a field sobriety test and placed DeLoach under arrest for driving while intoxicated. An inventory of the vehicle produced an open bottle of beer and two empty packets of a potpourri incense commonly referred to as fake weed. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered DeLoach's vehicle and it will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 11:25 pm.
