Intoxicated Driver Faces Felony DWI, LIVINGSTON, July 28, 2011 - At around 9:25 pm on July 27, 2011, a call was placed to the Polk County Sheriff's Office to report a driver who was driving east-bound in the west-bound lanes of US-190 West. The driver allegedly pulled into the driveway of Big Tex Trailers and tried to pull his truck under the gate. The driver then pulled back onto 190 (west-bound) and drove to the Corner Shell gas station at 190 and FM-2457. Sergeant Christian Schanmier with the Polk County Sheriff's Office caught up with the driver, Donald Plymale, 52, of Livingston. Sergeant Schanmier noticed symptoms of intoxication and called for a State Trooper. Corporal Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched along with Troopers Rocky Thigpen and David Morris. Corporal Lattner administered a field sobriety test. According to Lattner, Plymale performed poorly. Donald Plymale was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. To make matters worse for Plymale, this is his third DWI which makes this DWI a felony. Plymale was loaded into Sergeant Schanmier's unit and driven to Polk County Jail. A rollback wrecker from Harwood Wrecker Service recovered Plymale's vehicle and it will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 10:20 pm.
After Donald Plymale performed poorly on a field sobriety test, Sergeant Christian Schanmier loaded Plymale into a unit to be taken downtown.
Plymale is facing felony charges for his third DWI.
Plymale was driving this 1988 Mazda B2200.

Plymale's vehicle was towed by Big Jim Harwood. Houdini (pictured in truck), normally works for Ken's Towing, but for some reason was working for Jim Harwood on this evening.
