Large knives and beer found in possession of DWI suspects
Single Vehicle Accident in Goodrich Leads to 2 DWI Arrests, GOODRICH, July 7, 2008 - A single vehicle accident in Goodrich at around 8 pm on Monday, July 7, 2008 led to the arrest of two men for suspicion of DWI. A white 1982 Chevy Blazer driven by Bruno Jaimez, 21, and believed be a resident of Goodrich was driving east on 1988 and lost control of his vehicle leaving the road to the left. The vehicle hit a road sign and came to a stop in the weeds. Polk County Sheriff's Deputies Lee Rogers and David Ramsey were the first responders to arrive on the scene and immediately suspected alcoholic intoxication. Jaimes had three passengers in his vehicle, Jose' Jaimes (believed to be 19), Holly McCumber (also 19), and Gabriella Jaimes, 1 year old. The deputies placed Bruno Jaimes and his brother Jose', both under arrest . The men had alcohol and a number of very large knives. DPS Trooper Darwon Evans was dispatched to the scene of the accident. Also at the scene was Goodrich volunteer fireman, William Taylor. A short time later, Polk County Sheriff Deputy Billy Duke arrived to help McCumber and the child. McCumber was taken to the Sheriff's Department for questioning. At time of press, the status of McCumber and the child, Gabriella, is not known. The accident was cleared up in about an hour.
