Intoxicated Driver Wrecks Car on FM-3277, LIVINGSTON, June 12, 2009 - According the Texas Department of Public Safety, at approximately 10:43 pm on June 11, 2009, a green 1995 Dodge Neon driven by Linda Markham, 40, of Shepherd was west-bound on FM-3277 when her vehicle left the road to the left, struck a culvert and spun out in the grass. During the wreck, the driver's side rear tire was busted off. DPS Troopers David Morris, Nita Bowen, and Kevin Burman were dispatched to the scene along with Americare Ambulance Service. Both of Markham's airbags deployed. Markham showed symptoms consistent with being intoxicated. Markham was checked at the scene and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Markham faces charges of:
• driving while intoxicated • no driver's license • no insurance • unsafe speed • possession of drug paraphernalia
Markham's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker Service and it'll be stored at LakeView in Livingston. The scene was cleared shortly before midnight.
Busted rear wheel and airbags deployed.
Three DPS Troopers arrived to assist Markham.
