Deputy Mark Dubose pulled over a white Chevy Truck that was swerving into oncoming track on US-146. He caught up with the vehicle on Denham Street in Livingston (just off 146).
Driver Arrested for Morning DWI, LIVINGSTON, July 4, 2014 - At approximately 10:45 am on July 4, 2014, a report came in to the Polk County Sheriff's Office of a driver that was north-bound on US-146. The caller stated that the driver was swerving in and out of oncoming traffic, veering onto the shoulder, and back onto the road. Deputy Mark Dubose with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was nearby and caught up with the pickup on Denham Street just off 146. The driver, Gabino Martinez Santes, 27, of Livingston, appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. Deputy Dubose summoned Trooper Barett Duren with the Texas Highway Patrol. When Trooper Duren arrived he attempted to conduct a field sobriety test on Martinez Santes, but the driver couldn't seem to follow simple instructions, and could hardly stand up. Duren placed Martinez Santes under arrest and charged him with driving while intoxicated and open container of alcohol. Martinez Santes was taken to the Polk County Sheriff's Office and booked into jail. His vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Body Shop and will be stored in Goodrich.
