Thomas Norris was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
DWI Early in the Evening in Livingston, LIVINGSTON, May 23, 2008 - At approximately 8:45 pm on May 23, 2008, a blue 1994 Ford Ranger driven by Thomas Norris of Livingston hit a parked black 2004 Nissan Armada in the parking lot of Melbo's in Livingston. The Nissan was driven by Juan Garza, 43, of Houston. After Norris hit the Nissan, he then put his vehicle in reverse and backed into a red 2001 Ford F-250, driven by Kailee Hart, 16, of Livingston. According to witnesses at the scene, Norris got out of his vehicle and assaulted Garza hitting him, then pleading for the Red Ford to move so that he could hurry up and leave. Nobody moved to let Norris out and soon cops were all over the place. Livingston Police Officers Scott Paske, Curt Riley, and Rob Atkins were at the scene in addition DPS Trooper Glen Goodwin was assisting along with Polk County Sheriff Deputy Howard Smith. Norris was questioned by Livingston Police and then placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Beer was found in Norris' vehicle including open beer cans that were empty but still cold. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured and no ambulance was needed. Norris' vehicle was towed by Ken's Towing.
