Intoxicated Driver Slams Into Guard Rail, ACE, April 17, 2011 - At approximately 7:40 pm on April 16, 2011, a black 1999 Toyota Tacoma driven by Thomas Sanoheyl, 63, of Saratoga, was west-bound on FM-2610. According to several witnesses, Sanoheyl was weaving badly. Sanoheyl's vehicle finally came to a stop when he left the road to the right and when he tried to pull back onto the road slammed into the end of a guard rail. Sanoheyl was unharmed from the wreck. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene along with DPS Trooper David Flowers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Sanoheyl's speech was extremely slurred. When questioned, Sanoheyl stated to Flowers that he had consumed only a couple of beers. Later he stated to Flowers that he had had a "few too many". Trooper Flowers conducted a field sobriety test and placed Thomas Sanoheyl under arrest for driving while intoxicated. According to Flowers, Sanoheyl exhibited intoxication of both alcohol and pills. Sanoheyl was placed under arrest and charged with driving while intoxicated. Sanoheyl's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared before 9 pm.
