Driver Drives Off Road Into Water, Arrested for DWI, LIVINGSTON, April 16, 2010 - Shortly after 2 am on April 16, 2010 a green 2001 Honda Accord driven by Joshua Marceaux, 23, of Livingston was east-bound on FM-1988 East when he failed to control his speed and drove off the end of 1988 where it meets US-146 by R&D Grocery. Marceaux crawled out of his vehicle which had struck a tree and wrecked into nearly 2 feet of water. Marceaux fled the scene walking down FM-1988 only to be apprehended a short time later by Deputy Jamie Buie with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Buie was soon joined by Sergeant Christian Schanmier, also with Polk County Sheriff's Office. DPS Trooper Chris Stanbery was dispatched and performed a field sobriety test on Marceaux. Joshua Marceaux was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A rollback wrecker recovered Marceaux's vehicle and it will be stored a LakeView Storage in Livingston. The scene was cleared shortly before 4 am.
