75 year old Coy Ray Scoggins of Goodrich.
75 Year Old Man Arrested for DWI, HOLIDAY LAKE ESTATES, April 2, 2013 - At approximately 9:35 pm on April 1, 2013, Tito Reyes, 22, of Goodrich, was north-bound on Drew's Landing Road in the subdivision of Holiday Lake Estates.  Reyes spotted a brown 2000 Ford Taurus driving erratically headed south in the opposite lane of travel.  Reyes stopped his vehicle and the Ford Taurus (driven by Coy Ray Scoggins, 75, of Goodrich) struck Reyes' driver's side mirror.  Reyes (a licensed Peace Officer) managed to get the other vehicle to stop.  Reyes talked to Scoggins and asked him if he was okay.  Scoggins said yes, but Reyes smelled a strong scent of alcohol.  Reyes called the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene.  Trooper Burman conducted a field sobriety test but Scoggins was unable to perform any of the tasks.  Scoggins was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  When Burman inventoried the contents of Scoggins' vehicle, he found a .22 caliber pistol that was loaded.  Coy Ray Scoggins was also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Scoggins' vehicle and it will be stored at Pollock's Body Shop in Livingston.
