Trooper Darwon Evans checks the eyes of Delefino Alvarado of Livingston.
Intoxicated Driver Arrested on US-146, LIVINGSTON, March 27, 2011 - At approximately 5 pm on March 27, 2011, a report came in to the Polk County Sheriff's Office of a driver that was north-bound on US-146 driving at a high rate of speed and running other vehicles off the road.  Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched and caught up to the car (a white 2001 Ford Mustang).  Trooper Evans followed the car for a short distance, and after watching the car weave a couple of times, Evans pulled the car over which was driven by Delfino Alvarado, 56, of Livingston.  The car was stopped at 146 and Kimball.  Evans administered a field sobriety test and placed Alvarado under arrest for driving while intoxicated.  Alvardo's vehicle was towed from the scene by a rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service and it will be stored in Goodrich.  The scene was cleared by 5:45 pm.

Alvarado tried to explain, but it's kinda hard to explain away being intoxicated and driving.
Alvarado tried to walk a straight line while simultaneously talking.
Evans placed Alvarado under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
A bottle of Tequila (nearly drained) was found in Alvarado's vehicle.
Alvarado was driven to Polk County Jail and booked in.
