Intoxication and Marijuana, Driver and Passenger Arrested, LIVINGSTON, February 26, 2014 - At approximately 10:25 pm on February 26, 2014, Narcotics Detective, Randy Turner with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was on patrol in Livingston when he observed a red Ford F-150 make an illegal turn from West Church Street onto Willis Street. Detective Turner initiated a traffic stop, and after speaking with the driver Sandra Ann Hicks, 45, of Livingston and passenger Jeffery Lynn Wright, 53, also of Livingston, became suspicious of possible intoxication. Turner was quickly backed up by Narcotics Detective, Billy Duke. Turner gained consent to search the vehicle. During the vehicle search, Turner opened the glove compartment and found a cigarette carton of marijuana. Sandra Hicks was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Her passenger, Jeffery Wright was arrested and charged with public intoxication. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered the vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
Detective Randy Turner (who initiated the traffic stop) conducted a vehicle search. In addition to marijuana, Turner found hard liquor and beer.
Officer Paul Benfer with Livingston PD assisted Turner. Benfer transported Sandra Hicks to Polk County Jail. Hicks was charged with possession of marijuana.
54 year old Jeffery Wright was charged with public intoxication.
Hicks' vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing.
