Intoxicated Driver Wraps Car Around Tree, LIVINGSTON, February 1, 2008 - Shortly after 7 pm on February 1, 2008 an intoxicated driver crashed his 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra into a tree on FM 350 North in Livingston. The driver, Bruce L. Flewellen, 49, of Polk County, was intoxicated and amazingly didn't require the services of an ambulance. Flewellen was Northbound on FM 350 when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and slammed into a tree. Department of Public Safety trooper, Robert Acres and 2 Polk County Sheriff's deputies were on the scene investigating. A wrecker from Lakeview Wrecker Service arrived to tow the wrecked car. Trooper Acres administered a sobriety test. Open beer cans, and prescription drugs were found by Sheriff Deputies in Flewellen's car. Flewellen was arrested and taken to Polk County Jail for driving while intoxicated.
