48 year old Billy Wayne Barton, of Point Blank, was driving this Ford F-150 when he appeared to slide out of control.
Point Blank Man Facing Felony DWI, LIVINGSTON, January 27, 2016 - At approximately 9:20 pm on January 26, 2016, Trooper Zach Lenderman with the Texas Highway Patrol observed a black Ford F-150, driven by Billy Wayne Barton, 47, of Point Blank. Barton took the 190 exit off of US-59 in Livingston (by Livingston Burger King). As Barton attempted a left turn onto 190 West, he went into the turn too fast and slid sideways, nearly striking another vehicle in the process. Trooper Lenderman pulled up and turned on his lights to stop traffic and prevent Barton from being struck by another vehicle. Lenderman instructed Barton to pull onto the shoulder under the underpass (out of the rain). When Lenderman spoke to Barton, he smelled alcohol. By now, Lenderman was joined by Deputy Rey Davalos with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Lenderman conducted an field sobriety test on Barton and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Because this is Barton's third or more, the charge is felony DWI. Lenderman transported Barton to Polk County Jail. Barton's pickup was driven from the scene by a family member.
Trooper Zach Lenderman put cuffs on Billy Wayne Barton, of Point Blank.
