Greens Turnup In Traffic Stop

In a routine traffic stop, off of Highway 59 in Goodrich, Lieutenant Andy Lowrie of the Polk County Sheriff's Department smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the pulled over vehicle.  It was 10 pm on March 27, 2008 and the driver of the vehicle, Lorna Ann Vinson, 54, of Livingston gave Lowrie consent to search the vehicle.  Upon searching the vehicle Lowrie discovered approximately 1 pound of marijuana in a zip lock bag inside a trash can in the vehicle.  A passenger in the vehicle, Susan Ann Pierce was discovered to have approximately 1 ounce of marijuana in a baggy in her purse.  Both women were arrested and booked into Polk County Jail.  Vinson was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.  Vinson is currently on probation for the same type of crime that she committed in 2006 (possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver from her residence).
