Young Family Accidentally Walks Into Arrest Scene, LIVINGSTON, February 2, 2008 - When James and Amy Ellerbe of Onalaska went to look at a puppy for their 7 month old son, Thomas, they suddenly found themselves in the middle of an arrest of a wanted man. The arrest occurred on the grass between Wal-Mart parking lot and Taco Bell in Livingston, Texas. The suspect, Joshua Norred Allen, 22, of Livingston was selling pitt bull puppies and there was a warrant out for his arrest. A tip to the Sheriff's Dept. as to the whereabouts of Allen led Sheriff's deputies to the scene. According to Sheriff's deputies, there was a warrant out for Allen's arrest for assault/family violence. When they moved in to arrest Allen, they also confiscated approximately 1 quarter ounce of marijuana. The arrest occurred at approximately 11 am. Allen was taken to Polk County Jail a booked in. As for the three puppies (and their mother), James and Amy Ellerbee didn't like the idea of putting them in the pound and found a family willing to adopt the animals. The Ellerbes kept 1 puppy for themselves.
