Sex Offender Busted for Delivery of Methamphetamine, LIVINGSTON, November 1, 2010 - At approximately 5 pm on November 1, 2010, Lieutenant Mark Jones with the Polk County Sheriff's Office was on patrol on FM-1988 East when he spotted and pulled over a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Daniel Hancock, 56, of Crosby. Jones pulled the motorcycle over in the parking lot of R&D Grocery on US-146 about 6 miles south of Livingston. When Jones spoke to Hancock he observed Hancock was nervous and appeared to be intoxicated. Jones asked for consent to search Hancock's motorcycle. Hancock gave consent and admitted to having drugs. By now, Lieutenant Andy Lowrie and Sergeant Howard Smith from the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division arrived. Lowrie searched the motorcycle and found 7 individually wrapped bags of crystal methamphetamine (totaling approximately 11 grams). Hancock was placed under arrest for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. His motorcycle was confiscated by the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Daniel Hancock is a registered sex offender who has been to prison multiple times for drugs.
