Traffic Stop Leads to Another Drug Bust for Officer David Hernandez, CORRIGAN, July 21, 2015 - On the evening of July 20, 2015, Officer David Hernandez with the Corrigan Police Department was on Patrol in the 900 block of North Home Street in Corrigan. Hernandez spotted a white car with license plate lights out. Hernandez initiated a traffic stop at the north end of Corrigan near the city limits. When Hernandez spoke with the driver who was identified as 20 year old Deon Devante Kincade, he could smell a very strong scent of marijuana. Hernandez observed two passengers in the vehicle identified as Mark Anthony Bejaran, 20, and Rashaad Lakei Edwards, 20. With the overwhelming smell of marijuana, Officer Hernandez instructed the three men to step out of the vehicle, and that they were being detained while he investigated. After stepping out, Deon Devante Kincade ran across US-59 to the south-bound side where he entered the woods. Then, Rashaad Lekei Edwards took off in the same vicinity (into the woods and left his flip flops on the pavement). Mark Anthony Bejaran was successfully cuffed and detained. During a vehicle search, Hernandez located a Glock .40 caliber pistol and a back pack located in the back seat that had baggies stuffed with marijuana. Bejaran was placed under arrest and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Kincade and Edwards now have arrest warrants pending for evading arrest and felony possession of marijuana.
