Couple Hides Marijuana With Chihuahua and Gets Caught, BEACON BAY, May 5, 2011 - Narcotics Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office conducted the search of a travel trailer located in a Beacon Bay RV park off FM-3126 near the end of FM-350 South. During the 3 o'clock hour on May 5, 2011 detectives Mike Nettles, Andy Lowrie, Howard Smith and Randy Turner searched the small travel trailer for about an hour and found marijuana and methamphetamine. During the search, the couple kept a pet taxi with a Chihuahua and pillow inside close to them in their front yard. When detectives informed the couple of their findings and that they were under arrest, the lady (neither of their names have been released yet) became visibly upset. Lieutenant Lowrie offered to help the lady with her Chihuahua and when he did, a plastic container containing marijuana and rolling papers fell into his hands from the pet taxi. The woman who had appeared to be pleading her innocence now didn't have a leg to stand on. Both were placed under arrest and booked into Polk County Jail. We'll be sure to release their names as soon as we receive them.
