Polk County Sheriff's Detectives Uncover Meth Lab, BIG THICKET LAKE ESTATES, February 17, 2010 - February 11, 2010, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a tip about a possible meth lab located in the subdivision of Big Thicket Lake Estates. According to Detective Christopher Lima, an investigation was conducted including surveillance of the residence by the Polk County Sheriff's Office. One day later Sheriff's Investigators traveled to a residence off of Josephine Drive with a search warrant and searched the residence and surrounding property. The search did in fact render methamphetamine and materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Arrested and charged were Joshua Michael Davis, 25, of Rye and Timothy Dale Schaffer, 26, also of Rye. Bonds were set at $20,000 each.
Several other arrests are expected and may include family members of Schaffer and Davis.
