Polk County Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Crimes, Sentenced to Prison, LIVINGSTON, March 28, 2012 - A 40 year old Livingston man was sentenced to multiple terms of confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the offenses of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child by 411th District Judge Robert Hill Trapp today (March 28, 2012). Following a guilty plea, Anthony Dewayne Cornelius received two 25 year sentences and four 20 year sentences in connection with a six count indictment which alleged that in 2011 Cornelius encouraged his wife, Mistina, to engage in sexual activity with four teenage boys in the Indian Springs Subdivision who ranged in age from 13 to 16. The sentences will be served concurrently. Cornelius, who had no previous criminal convictions, was facing a punishment range of 5 to 99 years or Life in Prison for the first degree felonies, and 2 to 20 years in prison for the second degree felonies. "Under Texas law applicable to sex offenses, Mr. Cornelius will be required to serve a minimum of twelve and half years day for day, and more likely at least 85% of his sentence before he will be considered for parole," Polk County District Attorney Lee Hon stated. Charges against Mistina Cornelius are pending.
