BLUE WAVE
BULLDOG DEFENSE KEEPS OPPONENTS UNDER THEIR THUMB

Cornerback, Terrell Cook breaks up an Anderson-Shiro Pass.
Bulldogs Tenacious D Once Again Holds Opponents Scoreless, ANDERSON, October 27, 2018 - On Friday night, the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs traveled to Anderson to face the Anderson-Shiro Owls.  On a night when the Bulldog Offense certainly did it's job, it didn't put up the usual gaudy numbers.  It was the Bulldog's Big Blue Wave Defense that continues to be sparkling, stellar (well, about as sparkling and stellar as grouchy, stingy, rude, and grumpy can be).  The Blue Wave once again held their opponents scoreless.  Since District play has started, the Bulldogs have not had 1 point scored against them.  On the flip side of the coin, the dogs have racked up 116 points on their opponents.  I don't know if the Bulldogs can do any better.  Ah yes, there's always room for improvement.

SCORING SUMMARY:

First Quarter:  9:25 Jones 65 yard td run (missed pat) Dogs 6/0
4:30 Jones 15 yard td run with pat Dogs 13/0

Third Quarter:  5:46  Freeman 15 yard td run on a QB keeper w pat Dogs 20/0

Fourth Quarter:  1:56 Jones 89 yard td run w pat

FINAL SCORE:  Bulldogs 27, Owls 0

One of the things that I noticed tonight was that while the Dog's defense is just kicking butt and taking names, one particular player made me laugh because he just has to be about as annoying for opponents as can be.  Big 'Ol number 60, Cole Casper.  He's big, he's not particularly pleasant to look at.  He probably doesn't have blinding speed, but man, that guy just clogs up the center of the line and brutalizes opposing backfields (and he's just a sophomore).  Casper is like a big ugly monster who picks up players slams 'em into the ground.  While he may not have blinding speed, his speed is good enough to make offenses think twice before running through the center of that line, lest they pay a painful price.  As usual, running back Ashton Jones put up spectacular runs (enough to take up considerable space on our highlight reel).  The Dogs are playing so well on all sides of the ball, that there's many other players that I can talk about.... and I will in the coming weeks.  Next week the Dogs will be back in Bulldog Stadium to face Newton...  Ah yes, keep striving for improvement, Dogs... YOU CAN DO THIS.

As always, this week's highlight reel is brought to you by the great one, Willie A. Openshaw.

Running back, Ashton Jones, started the scoring for the Dogs with a 65 yard touchdown run.
Jones' constant threat to break long runs makes the rest of the offense possible.
Number 8, David Lazcano puts intense pressure on the Owl QB.
The Monster: Sophomore, Cole Casper punishes an Owl ball carrier pay for entering his territory.
Quarterback Dohn Freeman can run and throw.
Zack Ivie catches a pass and tacks on a run for a 40 yard gain.
David Lazcano has the Owl QB running for his life.
Ashton Jones runs the gauntlet.
